Reception this Friday Sept 18, 6 to 8 pm

Here's a sneak peek of the gallery at Edwardsville Arts Center for the Material Revival Show.

We have over 40 fabulous fiber works up and we want YOU to see them.  Please stop by Friday evening for the grand opening 6 to 8 pm.  Delight in the collaboration work of Erin Cork Woolfolk, Sarah Gillespie, Jo Stealey, Laura Strand, Erin Vigneau Dimick and Pat Vivod.

Jo Stealey Landscape 2015
16 panels 20" x 20" each
processed pecan leaves, silk organza, gold leaf
You have to see this work in person!  We are ecstatic to include a section of Jo Stealey's new landscape work.  It is 14 feet long!  This is the first time it is being exhibited in the United States.   Jo will be at the reception!

Laura Strand  Crescent Web 2015
45 wide  x 35 high
(fabric from Pat Vivod)
screen print and gold leaf on rust dyed fabric
Brand new work by Laura who is fascinated by spider webs.  Pat didn't at first recognize her own fabric in this piece.  It has become part of the lake.

We moved some walls to accommodate more work.
This shot includes work of Jo Stealey, Sarah Gillespie and Pat Vivod

Work by Pat Vivod, Erin Cork Woolfolk and Laura Strand can be seen in this shot

The work in this show involves special collaborations.  The artists traded items from their personal studios with each other and found some unique ways to incorporate and revive those materials in their own work.

If you can't make the opening, consider attending our gallery talk planned for Sunday October 4, 3 to 5 pm.  It's part of Fiber East self guided tour.  For information on other venues that day visit the Innovations in Textiles page at www.craftalliance.org
